Sustainable Infrastructure Development Foundation (SIDeF) was established as a civil engineering consultancy firm in 1994 now registered as SIDEF Consultants Private Limited. It has provided its services at present and in past in more than 40 districts of Nepal. SIDeF’s major strength lies in the planning and construction of low cost, environment friendly rural road construction. The organisation has gained extensive experience in working with the local government and the local community through partnership approach resulting in sustainable project output.

Mr. Govind Narayan Mallik is a senior environmentalist with an M.Phil. in Environmental Science and over 35 years of experience in environmental assessment and sustainable infrastructure development. He has led and contributed to numerous IEE, EIA, and EMP studies for road, urban transport, water supply, and sanitation projects funded by ADB, the World Bank, GTZ/GIZ, and the Government of Nepal. He was also a team member of the Dhading Development Project (DDP/GTZ), where the pioneering “Green Road Approach” was initiated.
Dr. Hare Ram Shrestha is an infrastructure specialist. He holds a Ph.D. in Developing Sustainability Criteria for Urban Transportation and has over 35 years of experience in sustainable infrastructure development. Dr. Shrestha has held prominent positions, including President of the Nepal Engineers Association (NEA) and President of the Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firms (SCAEF), Nepal. He was also a team member of the Dhading Development Project (DDP/GTZ), where the innovative “Green Road Approach” was initiated
Mr. Umesh Kumar Shrestha is a Social Safeguard Specialist with a master’s degree in Sociology/Anthropology and over 28 years of experience in social safeguard initiatives. He specializes in social and community development, gender, land acquisition, resettlement, and Indigenous Peoples/Ethnic Minority planning, along with monitoring and evaluation. He has contributed to major irrigation, transport, water supply, and sanitation projects of the Government of Nepal, as well as INGO programs funded by the EU, ADB, and the World Bank.
Mr. Thapa is a seasoned Civil and Construction Engineer with over 30 years of experience in construction, consulting, and project management. He holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering, an M.Sc. in Construction Management, and a P.G. Diploma in Construction Management. He is actively involved in professional and social organizations, including serving as President of the Nepal Engineers Association (NEA) and the Cement Manufacturers’ Association.
